Heintzelman’s 88 Paces Chargers at Mount Mercy Fall Invite

MARION, Iowa — Sophomore Averi Heintzelman (Sterling, Ill./Sterling) finished a stroke away from matching her career-best and finished fourth overall to lead the Carl Sandburg College women’s golf team at the Mount Mercy Mustang Fall Invite on Sunday at Hunters Ridge.

Heintzelman fired a 38 on the front nine and finished with an 88, nearly matching her career-low earlier this month at the Augustana Highland Classic. She finished three shots back of Lexi Poundstone of Mount Mercy for third. The Mustangs’ Natalea Cook took medalist honors with a round of 77.

Sandburg’s Olivia Schwingle (Sterling, Ill./Sterling) carded a 100, and Anna Duden (Gifford, Ill./Armstrong) shot a 109 for the Chargers.
